Ombudsman probes mechanisms used to review and monitor eligibility of existing tenants in subsidised public housing
The Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, today (June 12) initiated a direct investigation under section 7(1)(a)(ii) of The Ombudsman Ordinance (Cap. 397) into the effectiveness of mechanisms used by the Housing Department (HD) and the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) to review and monitor the eligibility of existing tenants in subsidised public housing.

Control Yuan holds staff exchange program
From 26 to 30 April 2014, the Control Yuan (CY) held a Staff Exchange Program with the ombudsman/human rights offices of Asian-Pacific and African countries. The program was joined by six participants from Fiji, Kiribati, Papua New Guinea, Swaziland and Vietnam, who had just finished the three-week National Development Course (NDC) held by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

El Centro de Mediación y Resolución de Conflictos de la Defensoría del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe realizó la primera mediación penal exitosa en el marco del nuevo Sistema Procesal Penal.
