On 11 November 2010 the United Nations General Assembly’s third commission adopted a resolution on "The role of the Ombudsman, mediator and other national human rights institutions in the promotion and protection of human rights". In its resolution the UN welcomes the rapidly growing interest throughout the world in the creation and strengthening of the Ombudsman, mediator and other national human rights institutions for the promotion and protection of human rights and recognizes the important role these institutions can play.

The Human Rights Defender of Armenia has published four thematic ad hoc reports as well as a guide on the media coverage of child related issues.
