The Legislative Assembly of Ontario has reappointed both its Ombudsman and Integrity Commissioner for another five years. Ombudsman Paul Dubé and Integrity Commissioner Hon. J. David Wake have served in their current roles since 2016. Their respective terms as Officers of the Assembly were extended by a unanimous vote of MPPs at Queen’s Park on 30 November 2020.

In its 2013 Annual Report, the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) is pleased to inform that States continued to abide by their legal obligation to protect persons deprived of their liberty and that the APT continued to pave the way towards a world without torture, without degrading treatment, a world in which the dignity and rights of persons deprived of their liberty are respected.
