Thuli Madonsela at the conclusion of a coordinating meeting on the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the AUC and AOMA on Friday 22, July 2012, in Luanda, Angola.

From 16 to 17 October 2019 an IOI Europe workshop was held in Riga (Latvia).The workshop focused on the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation and the different aspects to be considered by human rights institutions in their work. The workshop consisted of three sessions: GDPR and supervision, GDPR at national level and GDPR and individual.

The second year of work shows a decline of complaints on the one hand, on the other, the Ombudsman Bureau was able to resolve more complaints than in the year before. Only the response of administration towards the Ombudsman’s reports was below expectations.

2012-06-08Application to the Constitutional Court regarding campaign financing
The Commissioner for Fundamental Rights requested the Constitutional Court to examine the provision of the Act on Electoral Procedure which limits in HUF 1 million per candidate the amount that can be used during the electoral campaign for Members of Parliament. The Ombudsman has invited the Constitutional Court to examine also a possible failure to act by the law-maker in connection with the control of the utilisation of campaign funds.
