Le 20 mai marque l’anniversaire de la fondation de l’Association des Ombudsmans et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF) en Mauritanie en 1998, initiative novatrice et prometteuse de 18 membres fondateurs. Aujourd’hui, 17 ans plus tard, l’Association compte une cinquantaine de membres répartis dans différents pays d’Afrique, d’Amérique, d’Asie et d’Europe.

On Thursday 29 April 2021, PHSO started the routine publication of their primary and detailed investigations on their website. You can view their cases on their new publishing platform. They published around 15 of their decisions and will continue to publish cases on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. The number of cases they publish will gradually increase over the next few months.

The huge success of the training sessions showed that there is a strong demand among member institutions for training activities. The IOI has become highly aware of the necessity of training programmes for its members and is planning to offer additional training courses focusing on areas that are of specific concern to ombudsman institutions and taking into account regional topics of specific interest.

The IOI aims at implementing research projects that will become the basis for an intensified exchange of best practices among member institutions that will for the first time have comprehensive data available on other members of the ombudsman community. The upcoming research project will deal with Asian Ombuds institutions.
