NPM's visit to Piran Police Station and Koper Prison in the presence of observers from Italy
Deputy Ombudsman Ivan Šelih, Adviser to the Ombudsman Robert Gačnik, and a representative of the selected NGO PIC Boris Nusdorfer made a regular monitoring visit to the detention premises of the Piran Police Station on Tuesday, 20 June 2017. On Wednesday, 21 June 2017, they also visited the Koper Prison.

Ombudsman Sindh takes notice of use of substandard material in school building
Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik initiated action on the complaint of a concerned citizen, who stated that the construction of the Government Primary School was awarded to a government contractor, who allegedly used substandard material in collusion with officials of the Education Works Department.

La PPN firmó convenio con la Comisión de Prevención de la Tortura de la Provincia de Misiones
La Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación (PPN) firmó el 31 de julio en la ciudad de Posadas, Misiones, un Convenio Marco de Colaboración con la Comisión Provincial de Prevención de la tortura de la Provincia de Misiones. Ambos organismos mediante esta rúbrica, convienen en celebrar el presente convenio de colaboración y en realizar una transferencia de conocimientos.

Establecimiento del Capítulo Mexicano del ILO
El pasado viernes 28 de Julio se estableció en la Ciudad de México el Capítulo Mexicano del Instituto Latinoamericano del Ombudsman-Defensorías del Pueblo (ILO). En la ceremonia protocolaria, el Presidente del ILO, Carlos Constenla dirigió un estimulante mensaje a los miembros del Capítulo, destacando la historia del ILO y su expansión, así como el significado de ampliar las fronteras del ILO hasta otras latitudes, en el caso a México.

El Defensor del Pueblo (e.f.), Francisco Fernández Marugán, pide reforzar la protección de los niños y niñas víctimas de trata en el Día Mundial contra la Trata, establecido por Naciones Unidas. La Institución considera necesario elaborar un protocolo nacional para la detección y protección de víctimas de trata menores de edad en el que intervengan todas las entidades de protección de menores autonómicas.
