The Ombudsman put forth 548 recommendations and suggestions to the Administration in 2012. A total of 280,592 letters were received: 33,478 complaints, 371 ex officio investigations and 246,743 requests for the filing of appeals against 29 legal standards.

Provincial Ombudsperson Kim Carter released her 2012/13 annual report on 18 June 2013. Nearly 7,500 inquiries and complaints were responded to and 1,900 early resolutions or investigations were completed in 2012/13.

The Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsman has received more than 100 complaints related to the state of emergency and the coronavirus pandemic. The complaints have concerned all branches of administration. Many of the complaints are related to health care, social welfare and social insurance. The Office has also begun working on several issues at its own initiative.

Registration is now open for the annual IOI training, which will be held from 15 – 18 September 2013 in Vienna, Austria. This training held in cooperation with the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is designed for ombudsman staff of institutions with an anti-corruption mandate.
