El Defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe, Arístides Lasarte, juró el viernes, el 12 de septiembre de 2025, fidelidad y cumplimiento a la nueva Constitución provincial, reformada y sancionada el 10 de septiembre. Más allá de la importancia institucional para toda la provincia, se trató de un momento trascendental para la Defensoría del Pueblo, ya que el texto reformado de la Carta Magna incluye al organismo, 35 años después de su creación por ley.

Ombudsman presents Ombudsplan 2026 to Parliament
The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Judge Joseph Zammit McKeon, presented the Ombudsplan 2026 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Anglu Farrugia. The Ombudsplan is the annual policy and financial framework of the Office of the Ombudsman. It sets out the Office’s objectives for the coming year, highlights systemic challenges within the public administration, and includes the request for funding required to support the institution’s work.

Italy takes the spotlight in El Salvador: the Italian Ombudsman system as an international model for the protection of rights
Italy took a leading role in El Salvador, where a delegation from the Italian civic ombudsman system, upon the explicit invitation of the organizers, participated in an important international meeting with Ombudsmen and civic defenders from around the world, particularly from the Hispanic-American region.
