Iowa's Ombuds Office received over 4700 contacts for assistance in 2010, according to a report released 1 June 2011. Over 80 percent were complaints or information requests about state and local government agencies.

El Yuan de Control logra aumentar el número de empleados con discapacidad a través de una investigación realizada
El Yuan de Control inició una investigación sobre la situación laboral de las personas con discapacidad con el fin de proteger sus derechos humanos fundamentales y defender sus oportunidades laborales. En la investigación se descubrió que las personas con discapacidad se enfrentan a situaciones difíciles como una baja tasa de participación en el mercado laboral, una alta tasa de desempleo, un salario bajo, incluido el trabajo atípico y dificultades para llegar a fin de mes.

“Parir”: se proyectó en la Unidad 31 el documental sobre violencia obstétrica
En el marco de la semana mundial del parto respetado y con el objetivo de visibilizar la problemática desde las experiencias de embarazo, parto y pos parto que atraviesan las mujeres, se proyectó en la Unidad Nº 31 de Ezeiza la película PARIR de la reconocida documentalista Florencia Mujica.

10th Biennial Caribbean Ombudsman Association Conference and Training
The 10th Biennial Caribbean Ombudsman Association Conference and Training will be held in Bermuda from 28th – 31st May. The theme for the conference is “Strengthening the Role and Performance of the Ombudsman and Human Rights Institutions in the Caribbean and Latin America”. The training will be facilitated by Dr. Victor Ayeni and the theme will be “Advancing the Ombudsman’s Impact: Roles, Services and Performance”.

A new guide to finding the correct Ombudsman has been launched by Irish Parliament Speaker, Seán Ó Fearghaíl and Rónán Ó Domhnaill, Chair of the Irish Ombudsman Network. The guide features the seven main Irish ‘Ombudsman’ offices and lists other complaint handlers.

The CCAC co-organized Integrity Week with two Secondary Schools
In order to further promote integrity awareness among secondary students and foster teenagers’ honesty and righteousness, the Commission against Corruption of Macao (CCAC) co-organized the “Integrity Week” with two Secondary Schools in March. In addition, this year the CCAC launched a seminar entitled “A Talk on Integrity for Secondary School Graduates” to provide practical guidelines on integrity for secondary school graduates.

International Congress "The protection of human rights by the Ombudsman"
The congress will be hosted by the University of Alcalá between 1 and 3 June 2011 in the framework of the Regional Programme of Support for the Ombudsmen of the People in Ibero-America. The latter is funded by the Spanish Agency of International Development Cooperation (AECID) in the framework of the Ibero- American Ombudsman Federation (FIO). Its' principal objective consists in promoting the institution of the Ombudsman in Ibero- America.

La CNDH demanda políticas de reparación a víctimas y abatir impunidad frente a la persistente desaparición de personas
La CNDH afirmó que, ante la persistente desaparición de personas debe construirse una Política Nacional de Reparación Integral que tome en consideración a las personas, en particular a las víctimas, y busque esquemas para abatir la impunidad y reconstruir el tejido social, recuperar la confianza de la sociedad en las instituciones y el rescate de comunidades por el camino del respeto de la legalidad democrática.

Defensoría del Pueblo realiza Observación Electoral
En el marco del convenio que se firmó con el Tribunal Electoral, la Defensoría del Pueblo realizó el pasado 5 de mayo de 2019 el proceso de observación electoral en 170 centros de votación a nivel nacional. La institución pudo observar un total de 2,008 mesas de votaciones, entre las que se encontraban 18 centros penitenciarios.
