The city's Ombudsman, in conjunction with Human Rights Day, is pleased to announce the first edition of the Right to the City and Good Practices Award. This award is open to ombudsman offices, human rights institutions, and organizations from around the world, recognizing innovative projects, initiatives, or actions that make local human rights a reality. Registration will open soon and will be announced through Ombudsman’s usual channels.

2024-06-202023 Annual Report of the CCAC of Macao published in Official Gazette
The 2023 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region on 12 June 2024. According to the report, the CCAC proactively seized the opportunities in the wake of the revival after the epidemic and sought improvement in corruption fighting, ombudsman actions and promotion and education.

2024-06-20Hospitals, social welfare and education schemes contribute to rise in complaints to the Ombudsman
Nearly 4,500 complaints about public services were made to the Office of the Ombudsman in 2023. Ombudsman, Ger Deering, has seen a 30% rise in the number of complaints to his Office in recent years, from 3,418 in 2020 to 4,465 last year.

L’ombudsman de Montréal, Me Nadine Mailloux, a déposé le 17 juin 2024 au conseil municipal son rapport d’activités pour l’année 2023. Ce 20e rapport annuel du Bureau fait état de 2 223 dossiers traités, incluant 215 nouvelles enquêtes sur des sujets très variés, dont 47 lancées à l’initiative de l’OdM. Doctor of Laws Petri Jääskeläinen has been re-elected to serve as Parliamentary Ombudsman of Finland for a term of four years from January 2022 – December 2025. Dr. Jääskeläinen has already acted as Parliamentary Ombudsman two four-year terms.
