El defensor del pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, y el director de la Real Academia Española (RAE), Santiago Muñoz Machado, han firmado el 14 de marzo 2023, en la sede de la RAE un convenio de cooperación para fomentar el uso de un lenguaje claro y accesible en las Administraciones públicas para toda la ciudadanía, sin barreras por edad, formación o condicionamientos personales o culturales.

Augustinas Normantas, Head of the Seimas Ombudsmen's Office and Vytautas Valentinavičius, Head of the Human Rights Division together with Jean-Sébastien Blanc, Director of Thematic Programmes of the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT), accredited to the United Nations, discussed the peculiarities of treatment of patients with tuberculosis in prisons and mental health institutions.

IOI President lays a floral wreath at the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the revered founder of Pakistan, at the Mazar-e-Quaid Mausoleum
President Field’s third day in Karachi commenced with a great honour for the President personally, as well as for all Ombudsman and the IOI. Under full ceremonial Naval Guard, a beautifully sung recitation of the Holy Quran and the Naval Band playing the National Anthem of Pakistan, the President laid a floral wreath inscribed with the details of his official visit to Pakistan at the tomb of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the revered founder of Pakistan, laid to rest in the Mazar-e-Quaid mausoleum.

Alarmante incremento de la sobrepoblación
La Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación (PPN) expresa su preocupación por el incremento de la sobrepoblación carcelaria en el Complejo Penitenciario Federal de la Ciudad Autónoma de Buenos Aires (CPFCABA), ubicado en Villa Devoto. En las últimas semanas, se dispuso el traslado de más de 100 detenidos, sin tener en consideración que esa cárcel federal ya se encontraba sobrepoblada previamente.

El Yuan de Control insta a las agencias pertinentes a proteger los derechos humanos de los pescadores extranjeros
Con el fin de garantizar unos estándares básicos de calidad de vida a los pescadores extranjeros, el Yuan de Control aprobó un informe de investigación, instando a la Administración de Pesca y al Gobierno del Distrito de Pingtung a revisar, mejorar y trabajar juntos con el objetivo de cuidar a los pescadores extranjeros.

The question of whether (and, if so, how) the government is learning from experiences in its compensation programmes. These are just some of the issues from the Ombuds Agenda 2023 on which the National Ombudsman, the Ombudsman for Children and the Ombudsman for Veterans will be focusing particular attention this year.
