UN CAT calls to establish NHRI by increasing powers of the Ombudsman
The Czech Republic received the final recommendations of the UN Committee Against Torture (hereinafter the “Committee”) based on the examination of the Sixth Periodic Report of the Czech Republic evaluating the implementation of obligations under the UN Convention against Torture and other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. In December 2014, Mrs L went to a pre-operative assessment at the Trust ahead of her hip replacement surgery. Tests showed that she had high blood pressure and high levels of creatinine which indicated that her kidney function was impaired.
