La DPU lance l'Observatoire de la Violence envers les Femmes
Le jeudi 7 mars, le Bureau Fédéral du Défenseur Public (DPU) a inauguré l'Observatoire de la Violence envers les Femmes. L'Observatoire aura comme objectif de mettre en place des stratégies visant à renforcer les actions de la DPU concernant tous les types de violence, ainsi qu'à promouvoir les droits humains. Des plaintes pourront bientôt y être déposées.

Control Yuan receives inmate videoconferencing petition
The Control Yuan (CY) has made the provision of diverse services a policy goal and been dedicated to the implementation of receiving complaints via videoconferencing. On 27 January 2021, the CY received its first inmate videoconference petition. This practice enables inmates deprived of physical and communication freedom to file complaints to CY members via videoconference.

Commissioners of CCAC and ICAC meet by videoconferencing
Recently, the Commissioner of the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) of Macao, Chan Tsz King, and the Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, Simon Peh Yun-lu, held a meeting through videoconferencing and exchanged views on the works of integrity building of Macao and Hong Kong. According to Chan Tsz King, Macao and Hong Kong will hold their own election for legislative members this year and many challenges are lying ahead of them due to factors such as the pandemic.

La Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación presenta un nuevo reporte estadístico a enero de 2021 sobre la situación de las personas privadas de la libertad ante la actual emergencia sanitaria. El documento muestra una estabilidad de la población encarcelada en el SPF desde hace más de 6 meses, luego del descenso producido en los primeros dos meses de la pandemia y, por otro lado, alerta sobre un nuevo récord de personas alojadas en centros de detención no penitenciarios de la Policía de la CABA.

Ombudsman Commission helps secure estate for beneficiaries
On 3 March 2022, the Ombudsman Commission received a Complaint regarding the alleged delay in the transfer of the title for a deceased estate and overcharging of administrative fees by the office of the Public Trustee of Papua New Guinea. It was alleged that the Office of the Public Trustee had charged excessive fees and had delayed the transfer of a title of a deceased estate to the beneficiaries.
