Una capacitación sobre la importancia de la participación ciudadana y el derecho al sufragio realizaron los Oficiales de Derechos Humanos de la Defensoría del Pueblo a estudiantes de la Universidad Interamericana de Panamá, en el marco del convenio entre la entidad y el Tribunal Electoral para promover estos derechos humanos.

La Defensoría del Pueblo recomendó reformar los procesos de inclusión y discapacidad en el sistema educativo
Los defensores del Pueblo de Santa Fe a/c, Jorge Henn y Gabriel Savino, recomendaron al ministerio de Educación arbitrar los medios necesarios para iniciar un proceso participativo de revisión normativa de la resolución 1290, que establece los modos de intervención de las escuelas inclusivas, en todos sus niveles, dictada en setiembre de 2023, como asimismo la presentación de una propuesta de reforma.

La DPU lance l'Observatoire de la Violence envers les Femmes
Le jeudi 7 mars, le Bureau Fédéral du Défenseur Public (DPU) a inauguré l'Observatoire de la Violence envers les Femmes. L'Observatoire aura comme objectif de mettre en place des stratégies visant à renforcer les actions de la DPU concernant tous les types de violence, ainsi qu'à promouvoir les droits humains. Des plaintes pourront bientôt y être déposées.

Rudy DEMOTTE, Président du Parlement de la Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles, le 8e rapport annuel de l’Institution depuis sa fusion le 1er septembre 2012.

Commissioners of CCAC and ICAC meet by videoconferencing
Recently, the Commissioner of the Commission Against Corruption (CCAC) of Macao, Chan Tsz King, and the Commissioner of the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) of Hong Kong, Simon Peh Yun-lu, held a meeting through videoconferencing and exchanged views on the works of integrity building of Macao and Hong Kong. According to Chan Tsz King, Macao and Hong Kong will hold their own election for legislative members this year and many challenges are lying ahead of them due to factors such as the pandemic.

Ombudsman says implementation of Government’s plan on Direct Provision is key
Ombudsman Peter Tyndall has welcomed the Government’s White Paper on ‘Ending Direct Provision’, which includes a commitment to phasing out the system over the next four years. However, he says that implementation of the White Paper’s commitments will be key and he will monitor progress and feature updates in his regular reports.
