2025-10-29La première formation aux médias de l'IIO pour les membres francophones s'est achevée avec succès
Du 20 au 22 octobre 2025, l'IIO a organisé sa première formation aux médias pour ses membres francophones, en collaboration avec la renommée agence média britannique Media First. Les participant(e)s venus d'Afrique, d'Europe et d'Amérique du Nord ont appris différentes techniques pour réussir une interview télévisée ou écrite et ont eu l'occasion de mettre en pratique leurs connaissances théoriques en s'entraînant avec un journaliste formateur ainsi qu'avec un coach IA nouvellement développé.

2025-10-29First IOI media training for French-speaking members successfully concluded
From 20 to 22 October 2025, the IOI hosted its first media training for its French-speaking members in collaboration with the renowned British media agency Media First. Participants from Africa, Europe and North-America learned different techniques to successfully perform in a TV or print interview and had the opportunity to apply their theoretical knowledge by practicing with a journalist trainer as well as a newly developed AI coach.

The IOI is pleased to continue the successful training series for Ombudsman with NPM mandate. The next NPM training will be hosted by the Office of the Parliamentary Ombud of Norway and held in Oslo from 9 – 11 February 2026. It will be delivered by the APT and deal with preventive monitoring in mental health institutions, as well as creating change for NPMs who have been monitoring for years.

At the Regional Council of Lazio, a meeting took place between Marino Fardelli, Civil Ombudsman of Lazio and President of the Coordination of Italian Civil Ombudsmen, and Walter Domingo Martello, Vice General Civil Ombudsman of the Province of Buenos Aires. The purpose of the meeting was to exchange experiences between the two institutions, and this goal was fully achieved with a commitment to continue in the future.

Ombudsman Margaret Kelly has called for patients to be given a central role in shaping safety protocols within Northern Ireland's health service. Speaking at a conference on patient safety on 20 March 2024, Ms Kelly asked the Department of Health to take the lead in creating a comprehensive framework that empowers patients and fosters a culture of safety and accountability.
