La Defensoría del Pueblo reafirmó su compromiso con la protección de los derechos fundamentales de las personas migrantes, asegurando el acceso de este sector de la población a atención médica gratuita a través del Seguro Integral de Salud. Ello fue posible luego de dos casos ocurridos en Ica y Tarapoto, en los que el punto en común fue que las personas requerían atención médica especializada y no contaban con los recursos ni la documentación necesaria para acceder a estos servicios.

Ombudsman celebrates 50 years with conference on the role of the Ombudsman in the defence of democracy and fundamental rights
On September 27, the Palácio de Vilalva in Lisbon hosted the conference “Five Decades of Freedom and Justice: Celebrating 50 Years of the Ombudsman and April 25”. The event, organized by the Ombudsman’s Office, marked the fiftieth anniversary of the creation of this institution in Portugal.

Ce 2 mai 2022, le Médiateur fédéral a rendu public son rapport annuel 2021 et l’a remis à la Chambre des représentants. L’institution a ouvert 8 202 dossiers en 2021, soit 20 % de plus par rapport à 2019. En 2021, 1 plainte sur 5 touchait encore à la crise sanitaire et les plaintes liées aux allocations de chômage restent toujours élevées.

Preocupada por la situación en la que quedaban estas personas, la mayoría con situaciones graves de vulnerabilidad y estados de salud bastante deteriorados, el Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya abrió una actuación de oficio para hacer un seguimiento de las alternativas y los recursos que les ofrecía el Ayuntamiento.

Defensoría sensibiliza sobre los derechos de los NNA
Alrededor de 1500 personas sensibilizadas de las cuales 781 son estudiantes, 747 docentes y administrativos forman parte de una jornada de concienciación de la Defensoría del Pueblo sobre las leyes 285 de 2023 que crea el Sistema de Garantías y Protección Integral de los Derechos de la Niñez y la Adolescencia, al igual que la Ley 289 de marzo de 2024, la cual busca establecer los mecanismos para diagnosticar, prevenir, evitar y erradicar cualquier forma de maltrato psicológico, verbal o físico producido entre estudiantes.
