Mar Torrecillas, asesora del área de Seguridad Ciudadana y Justicia, es la representante de la institución del Síndic de Greuges en el nuevo Consejo Asesor de Derechos Humanos de Cataluña. Se trata de un órgano consultivo y asesor creado para garantizar el cumplimiento de los derechos humanos en Cataluña y para analizar y reflexionar sobre las políticas públicas relacionadas con los derechos humanos.

Outgoing Ombudsman Calls for Legislative Reform
Rosemary Agnew, one of Scotland’s leading public figures, has called for legislative reforms as she prepares to step down after eight years as the Scottish Public Services Ombudsman (SPSO). Throughout her time leading the organisation, she has repeatedly highlighted the need to modernise SPSO legislation to enable the Ombudsman to better serve the public and improve accountability in public services. Significantly, she has called for changes in how complaints are made to the SPSO and the ability to investigate complaints under her own initiative.

Rodríguez han presentado el informe La universalización del ocio educativo en Catalunya que analiza los cambios que se han producido en el ámbito del ocio en los últimos diez años. El informe concluye que ha habido avances en la garantía del derecho al ocio pero que no se ha producido ningún cambio sustancial.

"Increase in CPI Leads to Rise in GDP Per Capita" - Integrity Education for Future Generations to be Strengthened
Last year, Korea achieved its highest-ever ranking (30th) on the Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI). The Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission (ACRC) aims to maintain the upward trend through strengthened integrity education for future generations. ACRC to expand the inclusion of integrity content in elementary, middle, and high school textbooks, work with military academies, the Korea National Police University, and teachers’ colleges to make integrity lectures mandatory, and sign MOUs with major universities.

Public Protector of South Africa to deliver Thematic Lecture in Parliament hosted by the Office of the Ombudsman
As part of the Office of the Ombudsman’s 30th Anniversary commemorations, the office will be organising a Thematic Lecture focusing on the mandate of the Ombudsman. This event will highlight the crucial principles of transparency, fairness, and accountability within public administration. It will be held on 12th June 2025 in the Plenary Hall of the House of Representatives in Malta, under the theme “Transparency, Fairness, Accountability: Cornerstones of Good Administration - The Mandate of the Ombudsman.” The Office of the Ombudsman is honoured to welcome Adv. Kholeka Gcaleka, the Public Protector of South Africa, as keynote speaker.

La ineficacia de la Administración frena el progreso social de Cataluña
El 18 de marzo de 2025, la síndica de greuges de Cataluña, Esther Giménez-Salinas, acompañada por su adjunto general, Jordi Palou-Loverdos, entregó al presidente del Parlamento catalán, Josep Rull, el Informe anual de la institución correspondiente al año 2024. Este informe concluye que la eficacia de la Administración catalana debe mejorar, y es que la ineficacia genera desconfianza en las instituciones, afecta a la calidad de vida de las personas, amenaza la sostenibilidad del estado del bienestar, frena el ascensor social y obstaculiza el desarrollo económico.
