2019-06-11Ombudsman publishes Annual Report 2018
In 2018, the Ombudsman's Office received a total of 48,129 requests through the various channels available to citizens, including 36,111 entries of complaints and other communications. During the year, 9338 new procedures were instituted, five of them from the Ombudsman's initiative, which translates into an increase in the handling of complaints of 20% over the previous year.

The I.O.I. Board of Directors meets on an annual basis not only to perform the necessary officer elections but to take strategic decisions on future I.O.I. priorities and projects. Following a decision made by the Board in October 2010, the annual meeting of the I.O.I. Board of Directors 2011 will be held in Livingstone, Zambia.

2011-06-29Ms Calliope Spanou new Ombudsman
On 19 May 2011, the Greek Parliament elected Ms Calliope Spanou as the new Greek Ombudsman. Ms Spanou who was Deputy Ombudsman for state - citizen relations since 2003, has been acting Ombudsman since September 2010, following the resignation of the former Greek Ombudsman, Mr Yorgos Kaminis, who was elected Mayor of Athens in November 2010.

2019-05-31Irish Ombudsman’s Annual Report shows an 11% rise in complaints about Public Services
Speaking at the publication of his annual report for 2018 Mr Tyndall said that the Office of the Ombudsman received more than 3,300 complaints about public services last year. Complaints from the public to Irish Ombudsman and International Ombudsman Institute President Peter Tyndall rose by 11% in 2018.
