AUSTRALIA | Victorian Ombudsman tables Annual plan 2026-27

Tabled in the Victorian Parliament last week, the Victorian Ombudsman's Annual plan 2026–27 outlines the institution's key projects and initiatives for the year ahead, to help progress the Victorian Ombudsman's vision – Victoria is fair.

Grouped under the institution's four strategic priorities – prevention, oversight, communities, and people and systems – these initiatives include developing guidance on fairness in the delivery of public services, embedding a new model for prioritising and triaging complaints and investigations, implementing the institution's Treaty obligations, and developing its digital strategy.

The plan also introduces the Victorian Ombudsman's refreshed BP3 measures and identifies strategic challenges facing the organisation, in particular, securing financial resources, upholding public confidence and investing in the institution's information systems, capability and culture.
