BackThe Greek Ombudsman in collaboration with the Dutch counterpart institution and with the support of the Dutch Embassy in Greece, is organizing the 4th educational meeting of the Ombudsman Learning Academy, on Thursday 4 and Friday 5 June 2026 in Athens.
The two-day educational seminar, in which executives from 13 European Ombudsman offices participate, has as its central theme: “Giving voice to the voiceless”. The aim of the two-day educational seminar is cooperation and exchange of experiences in the field of research, drafting of special reports and mediation.
The Ombudsman Academy is an initiative of the Ombudsman of Greece, the United
Kingdom, the Netherlands, Slovenia and Portugal. The Academy was established in
2024, by the European section of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) under the presidency of the Greek Ombudsman, Andreas Pottakis. It operates as a specialized training center and a space where Ombudsman institutions and their staff can exchange new ideas, experiences and practices and develop new intervention techniques and ways of cooperation. The first two sessions of the Academy took place in 2024, in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands respectively, while the third session was organized in 2025 in Slovenia.
