PAKISTAN | MoU signed between the Office of Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Helping Hand for Relief and Development

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the Office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh and Helping Hand for Relief and Development (HHRD) on 18th September, 2025 at the Ombudsman’s Headquarters in Karachi.

The ceremony was attended by Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput; Secretary, Syed Mansoor Abbas Rizvi; Director General, Mr. Naseemuddin Mirani; Advisor, Ms. Rehana G. Ali Memon; Registrar, Mr. Masood Ishrat; Director, Climate & Disaster Justice Unit, Mr. Imdad Hussain Siddiqui; and IT Consultant, Mr. Akmal Naseem. From Helping Hand for Relief and Development, Country Director Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Regional Manager Mr. Ali Muhammad Pathan, Director Programs Mr. Amjad Mahmood Amjad, along with other senior officials, were present.

Under the MoU, Helping Hand for Relief and Development will play a significant role in promoting public awareness regarding the functions and services of the Office of the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh. As part of this initiative, HHRD has provided 2,600 panaflex banners and 10,000 stickers for dissemination across all 19 regional district offices of the Ombudsman Sindh.

The MoU was formally signed by Director General of the Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Naseemuddin Mirani, and Country Director of HHRD, Mr. Muhammad Saleem.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Muhammad Saleem highlighted that HHRD has been operational since 2005 and now has an active presence in 63 countries. He underscored Pakistan as a key focus area, particularly in supporting differently-abled persons, orphans, and other vulnerable communities. He expressed that partnering with the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh was a matter of pride for HHRD, noting that the Ombudsman’s initiative of providing free grievance redressal facilities was a landmark step that deserves wide recognition.

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, expressed his gratitude to Helping Hand for Relief and Development for their cooperation, emphasizing that both institutions are dedicated to public welfare and the delivery of justice. He added that this collaboration would greatly benefit the people of Sindh.

Later, Director of the Climate & Disaster Justice Unit, Mr. Imdad Hussain Siddiqui, formally received the materials provided by HHRD.
