I.O.I. welcomes Sri Lanka back as member

The International Ombudsman Institute welcomes Sri Lanka's Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration back as an I.O.I. member.

A so-called fast track membership procedure was established by the I.O.I. Board in 2009 and was offered to former members who had previously failed to renew their membership. The Parliamentary Commissioner for Administration (Ombudsman) of Sri Lanka recently expressed his wish to rejoin the I.O.I. and therefore to make use of the fast-track procedure.

The I.O.I. Board of Directors carefully assessed the request submitted by Sri Lanka in May and decided to give way to the demand welcoming the office's incumbent L.A.Tissa Ekanayake back in the I.O.I. community. The membership will formally be re-actived upon payment of membership fees.
