On 19 January 2026, the IOI General Secretariat held its first information session for new IOI members, who joined the IOI in the past two years. The aim was to introduce them to the Secretariat team and to inform them about the services the IOI provides to its members.
After a short welcome and introduction to the session by IOI Secretary General Bernhard Achitz and quick introduction rounds by the participating members and the Secretariat team, the IOI Executive Director and Head of General Secretariat Ulrike Grieshofer and the members of the Secretariat team presented essential information for IOI members.
This included topics such as basic IOI structures and documents like the Board, the By-Laws, the Strategic Plan and the budget as well as IOI services like the Regional Subsidies Programme, the members’ area, support for Ombudsman under Threat, trainings, publications and the IOI’s communication channels.
The online information session closed with an overview of members’ duties and a short Q&A. The direct feedback at the end showed that the participants appreciated this new format specifically developed for new IOI members.
