SOUTH KOREA | Appointment of new ACRC Chairperson

Mr. Il Yeon JUNG was appointed by the President as the 10^th Chairperson of the ACRC on 4 March this year.

Since 1991, he has served the public as both a judge and an attorney-at-law. Drawing on this extensive legal experience, he is committed to upholding accountability and independence in his role, while enhancing the effectiveness of the ombudsman in delivering fair and efficient grievance resolution.

As a member of the IOI, he will strive to strengthen international cooperation among member institutions and advance the development of a dynamic and cohesive Asian Region. He will also seek to enhance the tangible impact of ombudsman institutions by promoting greater accountability through transparent processes, measurable outcomes, and the sharing of best practices.
