From 19 until 21 October 2014 the Forum of Canadian Ombudsman holds a course that will explore some of the pressing issues faced by professionals working in correctional facilities.

Acting European Region President, and Irish Ombudsman and Information Commissioner, Peter Tyndall, spoke at the Ombudsman Association Annual Conference in Manchester on 15/16 May 2014. 

The Banking Mohtasib (Ombudsman) Pakistan published the ninth Annual Report for the year ending 31 December, 2013.The report includes analysis of systemic deficiencies and control weaknesses in banks which the Banking Mohtasib came across during the course of investigations of complaints in the year under review.

Ombudsman Peter Tyndall launched his first annual report since taking up the role as Ireland's Ombudsman in December 2013. At the launch of his annual report for 2013, Peter Tyndall pointed out that his Office had received more than 3,000 complaints in 2013.

The Queensland Parliament has recently passed legislation to return oversight of the state’s child safety complaints system to the Queensland Ombudsman. 

The City of Toronto Ombudsman, Fiona Crean, announced that Toronto Community Housing Corporation (TCH) has accepted all of her findings and recommendations following an investigation into its human resource policies and practices.

On 13 May 2014 Chairperson of Federacion Iberoamericana de Ombudsman (FIO) Dr. Raúl Plascencia spoke at the Control Yuan (CY) plenary meeting and received the Control Yuan First Grade Medal from CY President Mr. Wang Chien-shien.
