Le Médiateur de la République SE M. Moumin Ahmed Cheik et deux de ses collaboratrices ont participes le Congrès de l’Association des Médiateurs et Ombudsmans de la Francophonie  qui s’est tenu du 16 au 19 mai 2022 à Marrakech (Maroc).

The current issue of Federal Tax Ombudsman’s newsletter (Vol. 4 / Issue 4) is now available for your kind perusal. The Ombudsman’s monthly newsletter includes various recent activities of the office and highlights of relief provided to the complainants during the month under report.

Complaints to the Ombudsman about public services, such as those provided by government departments, local authorities and the HSE, reached a record high in 2021. Recently-appointed Ombudsman Ger Deering said that 4,004 complaints were received by his Office - a 17% increase on 2020, and the highest ever in the 38-year history of the Ombudsman.

The International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) is receiving applications for its master programmes, i.e. the Master in Anti-Corruption Studies (MACS), the International Master in Anti-Corruption Compliance and Collective Action (IMACC), the Master in Anti-Corruption and Diplomacy (MACD), and the Spanish programme of a Máster en Estudios Anticorrupción y Compliance (MACC). Applications for 2022 classes are still open.

In March 2022, the Office of the Ontario Ombudsman held a webinar on how to leverage the Venice Principles and the UN Resolution on the Ombudsman to promote, protect and strengthen Ombudsman institutions. The webinar has been recorded and the video is now available online.

En su calidad de director para la Región Caribe y América Latina del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (IIO), el defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe a cargo Gabriel Savino participó recientemente de la reunión de la Junta Directiva de ese organismo internacional, que se realizó en Nuevo York.
