Australia | Victorian Ombudsman seeks input on making better use of data

The Victorian Ombudsman is exploring how it might make more use of its data on complaints and investigations, including providing summary data to agencies being complained about to assist them in service improvement.

Principal Program Manager Jon Buttery has recently started his work in the Victorian Ombudsman's Office and is interested in learning from the experience of other Ombudsman around the world in any of the following themes:

  • provision of data to agencies about complaints made against them to assist them to improve their services and gain perspective on their performance in addressing issues;
  • use of data as part of the work of the Ombudsman;
  • use of data to reflect the work of the Ombudsman, particularly to the public;
  • any other relevant uses of data (including how you direct people to the right authority, given the complexities of administrative arrangements)

If you have an interest in one of these items or some other use of data, the Office of the Victorian Ombudsman would be very interested in hearing from you and kindly asks you to contact Jonathan Buttery directly.
