IOI | Post-hurricane support for the Caribbean region

Following the devastating hurricanes that severely affected many islands in the Caribbean region during the month of September of this year, the IOI Executive Committee  approved a one-time € 8000.00 emergency subsidy.  Some of the hardest hit islands in the region include: Antigua & Barbuda, Sint Maarten, British Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, United States Virgin Islands and Dominica.

Upon the request of Regional director of the Latin American and Caribbean region, Dr. Nilda Arduin, Ombudsman of Sint Maarten, part of the subsidy was approved for a post-hurricane regional public relations (PR) campaign.  Consequently, a text and plan of approach to produce an infomercial / public service ad was agreed upon with the input of Caribbean Ombudsman Association (CAROA). The ad focusses on the policy of the Ombudsman / Complaint Commissions / Public Defenders in the Caribbean region when it comes to the general public and government.  The 60 second video ad explains in a concise and effective way the purpose of the institution in relation to the government relief efforts from the hurricanes, and is customized at the end with the logo and contact information of the individual organization. Both the CAROA and IOI logos are featured at the end of the infomercial as well. A 30 and 45 second audio has also been produced for radio broadcast.
