IOI President at FOI meeting in Berlin
IOI President and Information Commissioner for Ireland Peter Tyndall participated at the Meeting of Freedom of Information Commissioners and Ombudsmen which was held in Berlin from 23 - 24 February 2017.
Delegates from all over Europe discussed their experiences of Freedom of Information (FOI), FOI at the EU level, using civic technology to enforce the right to information, and the use of FOI by NGOs.
The event was opened by Ms Andrea Vosshoff, the Federal Commissioner for Data Protection and FOI of Germany, who stressed the importance of free access to information, which is no longer a national matter but gains more and more importance on a European level as well.
