Pakistan | Ombudsman Sindh takes notice of use of substandard material in school building

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Mr. Asad Ashraf Malik initiated action on the complaint of a concerned citizen, who stated that the construction of the Government Primary School, Harkhio Hakeem Bheel was awarded to a government contractor, who allegedly used substandard material in collusion with officials of the Education Works Department. The portion of the roof of the building was defective and could collapse any time. Due to this apprehension the defective, dangerous portion of the school building was not being used by students and teachers.

Provincial Ombudsman Sindh took immediate cognizance of the situation and ordered urgent measures for safety of student and teachers. As a consequence entire substandard defective structure pointed out by the complainant was pulled down and defects rectified by the contractor to the satisfaction of local community.

The complainant appreciated and thanked the Ombudsman, Sindh for his prompt action for the safety of the lives of the teachers and students.
