Mr. Naveed Kamran Baloch took oath of his office on 4 March, 2026 as the 9th regular Wafaqi Mohtasib (Federal Ombudsman) of Pakistan for a four-year term. The oath was administered by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Mr. Asif Ali Zardari at a ceremony held at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, Islamabad.
Prior to his appointment as the Wafaqi Mohtasib, Mr. Baloch has held various senior positions at the federal and provincial levels, like the Chief Secretary of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, Federal Secretary Finance, Cabinet Secretary besides Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Sindh. After retirement from the civil service, he also served as the Executive Director in the World Bank.
He has brought extensive experience to his new position. He holds a Master’s Degree in Social Policy and Planning in Development from the prestigious London School of Economic (LSE) UK and Bachelors of Business Administration from USA. He has also attended various local and international professional training courses, workshops, seminars and conferences. He has the honour to attend Executive Leadership Management from the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard USA and Executive Leadership from the said Business School, Oxford University. He is also a certified Board Director of Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance. He joined the civil service of Pakistan through Competitive Examination in 1985.
He is also the President of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA) and a member each of the Forum of Pakistan Ombudsman (FPO), the OIC Ombudsman Association (OICOA) and the International Ombudsman Instituted (IOI).
