Canada | FCO holds corrections course in Ottawa

The Forum of Canadian Ombudsman (FCO) will once again hold a course to explore pressing issues faced by professionals working in correctional facilities. Sessions have been developed by FCO members working and specializing in the field of corrections at both the provincial and federal levels.

The course will be held from 6 – 8 November 2016 in Ottawa and topic highlights include among others:

  • a high-level overview of the most common mental illnesses investigators and Ombuds staff encounter;
  • understanding self-harm and medical isolation;
  • managing unreasonable complaint behavior.
