NEW ZEALAND | Chief Ombudsman releases International Ombudsman Self-Assessment Tool

The Chief Ombudsman Peter Boshier has developed an international self-assessment tool that is designed to help Ombudsmen identify their strengths and areas for improvement. The tool was developed to assist all Ombudsmen, with a focus on those in the Asia-Pacific region.

The tool will help inform strategic planning, prioritise areas of focus and monitor change over time.

Mr Boshier says the aim is for Ombudsmen’s offices in the region to help each other to meet international best practice.

The Tool was developed as part of the Chief Ombudsman’s international Ombudsman training and development support programme, which is funded by Parliament.

More information is available on the Chief Ombudsman’s website.
