AOMA | African Ombudsman Today – Issue 10, September 2018

The September edition of the “African Ombudsman Today” bids farewell to former AOMA President and Ethiopian Ombudsman Foziya Amin, who was appointed Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Ethiopia in April 2018. Ms Amin is succeeded by the Honourable Edouard Nduwimana, Ombudsman of the Republic of Burundi.

The newsletter further includes an article in commemoration of Nelson Mandela International Day, featuring the address by President Nelson Mandela at the African Regional Workshop of the IOI held in South Africa in 1996.

New Ombudsman who commenced office in 2017-2018 are introduced, and the keynote interview of this edition is dedicated to the Honourable Ombudsman of Djibouti, Dr. Kasim Issak Ousman, who is in office since May 2016.
