Ireland | 10th Edition of the Ombudsman’s Casebook published

The report includes recent complaints Ombudsman Peter Tyndall examined. Among the complaints upheld this quarter are:

  • Agriculture/Forestry: A delay in being issued a herd number resulted in a man being refused a forestry grant (page 3)
  • Hospital: Procedures were improved after a family complained about the "end of life care" of their uncle (page 18)
  • Medical Card: An application form for a medical card will be changed after a man needlessly had to supply information about his means (page 20)
  • Social Protection: A man's Jobseeker's Allowance was backdated to the time he bacem "habitually resident" not the date of his successful appeal (page 34)
