2019-05-31Irish Ombudsman’s Annual Report shows an 11% rise in complaints about Public Services
Speaking at the publication of his annual report for 2018 Mr Tyndall said that the Office of the Ombudsman received more than 3,300 complaints about public services last year. Complaints from the public to Irish Ombudsman and International Ombudsman Institute President Peter Tyndall rose by 11% in 2018.

2019-08-16Ontario Ombudsman launches nationwide search for French Language Services Commissioner
Ontario Ombudsman Paul Dubé announced the details of his plans to fill the role of French Language Services Commissioner within his office. Mr Dubé will choose the new commissioner with the assistance of an expert panel: Michel A. Carrier (Interim Commissioner of Official Languages for New Brunswick), and Linda Cardinal(University of Ottawa professor and internationally recognized authority on language rights).

The Chief Minister Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah has appointed Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan as Ombudsman Sindh for a period of four years. Mr. Ajaz Ali Khan administered Oath of Office by the Governor Sindh on 24th February, 2020 and has assumed the charge of the post on 25th February, 2020. His appointment has been highly appreciated by all sections of Society in view of his valuable services in various capacities in Federal and Provincial Governments.

On 28 February 2024, the Chief Ombudsman published his opinion on a complaint from Deaf Aotearoa, a service provider and advocacy organisation for the Deaf community, about the Ministry’s New Zealand Sign Language in education strategy. Mr Boshier says the Ministry of Education acted unreasonably when it failed to ensure its strategy for progressing access to education in New Zealand Sign Language included specific ways to achieve its goals.

The UK Parliamentary Ombudsman will be hosting a seminar on Peer Review in London in conjunction with the IOI on Monday, 23 September 2019. This follows on from the review of his Office which IOI President, Peter Tyndall led in conjunction with the late Caroline Mitchell of the UK Financial Ombudsman and Christian Gill, Lecturer in Public Law at University of Glasgow.
