El Defensor del Pueblo en funciones, Eduardo Vega, expresó su satisfacción y saludó la decisión del Pleno del Congreso de la República, que hoy aprobó la Ley de Consulta a los Pueblos Indígenas, a la que calificó como “una norma que constituye un paso trascendental en el reconocimiento de los derechos de los pueblos indígenas y para institucionalizar el diálogo intercultural entre éstos y las autoridades del Estado”. Asimismo, indicó que tal medida acoge las recomendaciones efectuadas por la Defensoría del Pueblo.
