Diamandouros a déclaré : «La principale priorité du Médiateur est d'aider l'administration de l'UE à devenir plus ouverte, plus active, plus responsable et plus orientée vers les citoyens, afin d'accroître leur confiance envers le service public de l'Union européenne. Beaucoup doit encore être fait à cet égard. Cependant, je suis ravi que, dans plus de la moitié des cas que j'ai clôturés en 2010, l'institution concernée a accepté une proposition de solution amiable ou a réglé la question.»

    Manitoba Ombudsman releases a report under PHIA about a privacy breach related to MRI services

    Manitoba Ombudsman has released an investigation report under the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) related to the unauthorized disclosure of personal health information of 91 patients who received magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scans within the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority (WRHA) between 2008 and 2016. The patients’ health information was disclosed in violation of PHIA to several media organizations.

    Ombudsman Board presents Annual Report 2010

    "In 2010 the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) took care of the requests of more than 15 000 people, and 6 600 investigation procedures were initiated to control administrative decisions. In more than 17 percent of all investigation procedures the AOB confirmed a case of maladministration," AOB Chair Peter Kostelka summarised last year's activities on the occasion of the annual report presentation on 28 April in Vienna. An international version of the annual report in English highlighting human rights related cases will be published in June 2011.
