The Chancellor of Justice received the highest international recognition
The Chancellor of Justice received the A-status accreditation as a national human rights institution by the GANHRI Sub-Committee on Accreditation (SCA). The decision on accreditation was preceded by a submission of a comprehensive statement on the independence, mandate and composition of the institution of the Chancellor of Justice, and an oral hearing by the SCA in December last year.

IOI President meets Chief Minister Sindh and addresses Launching Ceremony of a Research Study undertaken by the Provincial Ombudsman Sindh
President Field’s first morning in Karachi commenced with meeting the Chief Minister Sindh, His Excellency Syed Murad Ali Shah. His Excellency and President Field enjoyed a warm exchange and President Field was honoured that His Excellency presented him a traditional Sindhi cap and Ajrak, which President Field wore with great pride during his address at the Launching Ceremony of the Research Study “Assessment of Malnutrition (Stunting) in District Tharparkar” held in the main hall of the Chief Minister’s House.

Discussion paper on Integration published by the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands
During the IOI world conference, the Ombudsman of Greece, the Ararteko of the Basque Country and the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands presented their papers on asylum and migration topics. The discussion paper on integration written by the Office of the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands is now available for download.

IOI President and Western Australian Ombudsman Chris Field has been awarded a Public Service Medal in the 2023 Australia Day Honours List. The honour is “For outstanding public service as Ombudsman and President of the International Ombudsman Institute.”

On 18 October 2022, the Western Australian Ombudsman and President of the International Ombudsman Institute released his report on giving effect to the recommendations arising from An investigation into the Office of the Public Advocate’s role in notifying the families of Mrs Joyce Savage, Mr Robert Ayling and Mr Kenneth Hartley of the deaths of Mrs Savage, Mr Ayling and Mr Hartley.
