Les Etats membres de l’Union européenne ont jusque fin 2021 pour transposer les règles dans leur législation nationale. Le réseau NEIWA, pour Network of European Integrity and Whistleblowing Authorities, regroupe une vingtaine d’institutions publiques européennes chargées de veiller à l’intégrité et à la bonne gouvernance. UN torture prevention body: COVID-19 shows need to strengthen NPMs
The UN Subcommittee on Prevention of Torture (SPT) has called for the role of domestic monitoring bodies, officially known as National Preventive Mechanisms (NPMs), to be strengthened, highlighting the importance of monitoring the conditions of people deprived of liberty in critical situations such as the current COVID-19 pandemic.

Nomination of a new Public Services Ombudsman
As of July 2020, the Northern Ireland Assembly nominated Margaret Kelly as the new Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman. The new Ombudsman will take up her post on 19 August, following appointment by Royal Warrant. The post is for a single period of seven years.

David Baele a prêté serment, le mardi 7 juillet 2020, en tant que médiateur fédéral néerlandophone devant le président de la Chambre des représentants, Patrick Dewael. Jusqu’il y a peu, David Baele était chargé de mission à l’Agence pour la Simplification administrative du service public fédéral Chancellerie du Premier ministre.
