Le Médiateur du Faso a procédé à l’installation officielle des nouveaux Délégués régionaux dans les différents chefs lieu de Régions depuis le début du mois de juillet 2015, excepté celui du Centre, qui le sera très prochainement. C’est en présence des Gouverneurs et de l’ensemble des corps constitués de chaque Région que les différentes cérémonies se sont déroulées.

En el Día Mundial contra el Trabajo Infantil, la Defensoría del Pueblo señaló que aún se encuentra pendiente la actualización y/o modificación de la relación de trabajos peligrosos para adolescentes por parte del Ministerio de la Mujer y Poblaciones Vulnerables, así como la adopción de medidas que consideren el nuevo contexto de la pandemia y sus implicancias en la vida de niñas, niños y adolescentes que trabajan.

Prof. Lipowicz leaves office as Human Rights Defender
On 7 August 2015 the Senate approved the appointment of Dr. Adam Bodnar as seventh Polish Human Rights Defender. Mr Bodnar, who will take office after having taken the oath before the Sejm (Parliament), will succeed Prof. Irena Lipowicz. On behalf of the international Ombudsman community, the IOI would like to thank Prof. Lipowicz for the valuable and significant contributions she made as a member of the IOI Board of Directors.

New statute: Ombudsman welcomes legal strengthening of her Office
European Ombudsman Emily O’Reilly welcomes the Parliament’s approval (602 votes out of the 692 cast) of a strengthened legal framework for her Office. The revised statute strengthens the legal base of the Ombudsman and introduces new safeguards to further guarantee its independence, including an adequate budget to support the Office’s activities.
