As of July 2020, the Northern Ireland Assembly nominated Margaret Kelly as the new Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman. The new Ombudsman will take up her post on 19 August, following appointment by Royal Warrant. The post is for a single period of seven years.

CPT issues follow-up statement on COVID-19

Commonwealth Ombudsman releases report on unacceptable behaviour training in the Australian Defence Force
The report, Inquiry into behaviour training for recruits, reviews Defence’s framework for administering training to new recruits about Defence’s required behaviours. The report considered the courses taught by the Army, Navy and Air Force recruit schools which are designed to teach Defence’s newest members about the rights and obligations of all ADF members in relation to required behaviours.

Ombudsman Sindh orders restoration of service of prison officers
Taking cognizance of an illegal and arbitrary administrative order the Ombudsman Sindh, Asad Ashraf Malik directed the Inspector General of Prisons Sindh, to withdraw cancellation orders of appointment of eight candidates for the post of warders and restore their services with retrospective effect. The Ombudsman issued these orders on complaint filed by one of the aggrieved candidates.

El Defensor del Pueblo ha formulado una serie de recomendaciones al Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente (MAGRAMA) sobre la Ley de protección y uso sostenible del litoral y de modificación de la Ley de Costas con la finalidad de que en su desarrollo reglamentario se extreme la cautela para asegurar la protección de la costa.
