Lors de la présentation de son Rapport annuel 2010 à Bruxelles, M. Diamandouros a déclaré : «La principale priorité du Médiateur est d'aider l'administration de l'UE à devenir plus ouverte, plus active, plus responsable et plus orientée vers les citoyens, afin d'accroître leur confiance envers le service public de l'Union européenne. Beaucoup doit encore être fait à cet égard. Cependant, je suis ravi que, dans plus de la moitié des cas que j'ai clôturés en 2010, l'institution concernée a accepté une proposition de solution amiable ou a réglé la question.»

Le rapport du Protecteur du citoyen sur les services publics aux personnes incarcérées qui éprouvent un problème de santé mentale a été déposé ce matin à l'Assemblée nationale. Mettant en évidence le fait qu'au Québec, l'organisation des services en santé mentale s'est faite sans tenir compte des spécificités du milieu carcéral, le rapport constate des lacunes majeures dans l'accessibilité et la continuité des services de santé et des services sociaux aux personnes incarcérées éprouvant des problèmes de santé mentale.

The Ombudsman observed problems and has made recommendations to the Minister for Finance and the Governor of the Bulgarian National Bank. According to the Ombudsman, the rights of the citizens as consumers are often violated by credit institutions.
