On 20 April Hong Kong Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, announced that a new section dedicated to complaint cases relating to the Code on Access to Information has been added to the website of the Office of The Ombudsman. Furthermore, the Office collaborated with Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) to produce a TV mini-series called “The Ombudsman 5-minuter”.

National Human Rights Commission sets up independent monitoring mechanism for CRPD
The National Human Rights Committee (NHRC) held a press conference to announce that an independent monitoring mechanism as required by Article 33 of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) will be set up to build long-term cooperation between government agencies and representatives for disabled persons, jointly facilitating the implementation of the CRPD.

Les médiateurs fédéraux, Catherine De Bruecker et Guido Herman, ont rendu public leur rapport annuel 2015. Dans le rapport la protection des droits et besoins des détenus en période de grève et la réglementation fiscale des enfants à charge ont retenu particulièrement l’attention.

Rapport de l’APT pour prévenir la torture en Afrique
Le présent rapport marque la fin d’un projet triennal intitulé « Un continent uni contre la torture ». Fruit de la collaboration du Réseau des institutions nationales africaines des droits de l’homme (RINADH) et de l’APT, le projet cherchait à renforcer le rôle et les compétences des INDH africaines dans la prévention de la torture.

Le Médiateur de la République aux côtés des femmes albinos
A la faveur de la célébration de la Journée internationale de la femme, l’Association Ivoirienne pour la promotion des femmes albinos (AIPFA)) a procédé, le samedi 12 mars 2016, à l’Institut National des Aveugles de Yopougon, au lancement de ses activités. Mlle Touré Gniny Eugénie, présidente de cette association a saisi cette occasion pour présenter l’objectif de l’AIPFA.

Ombudswoman undertakes investigation following inmate deaths in Zagreb County Prison
Following the annual Government Report on the Operation of the State and County Prisons and Juvenile Correctional Institutions, which recorded nine inmate deaths in the entire prison system during the course of 2020, Ombudswoman Tena Šimonović Einwalter instigated an investigation procedure in this matter.
