Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman Quarterly Bulletin 2018
Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman, Marie Anderson, publishes her second Quarterly Bulletin. This includes reports on complaints about the treatment provided by a GP to a patient with breast cancer, the way a Council dealt with a planning application for a wind turbine, and the care and treatment of patients within two Health Trusts. This edition of the Bulletin also provides a further update on the important work within her Office to prepare for the first ‘own initiative’ investigations and their ongoing research project to explore issues in public sector complaints handling.

At the closing ceremony of the SEAOF Meeting and the SEAOF+ Meeting on 2nd November 2022, the Chief Ombudsman of Thailand, Mr. Somsak Suwansujarit, handed over the symbol of the SEAOF Chairmanship to Mr. Mokhammad Najih, Chairman of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.

Ombudsman Hong Kong publishes latest issue of Annual Report
On 17 July 2018, the Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, released to the public her Annual Report 2018. During the year covered by the report, the Office of The Ombudsman saw record highs in the numbers of direct investigations completed, mediation cases handled and complaints relating to access to information lodged with the Office. Around 90 per cent of the recommendations made by the Office have been accepted by government departments and public bodies for implementation.

La Defensoría y el CEC presentaron un instrumento para relevar el estado de los servicios públicos en villas y asentamientos
El objetivo de la reunión fue la presentación del instrumento de diagnóstico expeditivo de servicios públicos para villas y asentamientos que se diseñó y se aplicó como prueba piloto en Villa 15, Villa 20 y La Carbonilla. Dicho instrumento se creó en el marco del convenio de colaboración entre la Defensoría del Pueblo y el CEC, y permite caracterizar los servicios urbanos de agua, saneamiento, electricidad e Internet de las villas y asentamientos de la Ciudad en base a tres criterios: su cobertura, su calidad y la accesibilidad.
