Vienna City Council discussed 2010 AOB report
Seven of Austria's nine provinces have mandated the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) with monitoring the entire provincial and municipal administration. The AOB therefore submits an annual report to the National and the Federal Council on the Federal administration but also reports regularly to those seven provincial parliaments in which it also controls the provincial and municipal authorities.

New Ombudsman strategy aims to turn complaints into catalyst for public service improvement
The Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman has launched its new five-year strategy, marking a renewed commitment to delivering fair and impartial justice for individuals and a greater focus on its role in improving public services. The new strategy, running from April 2026 to March 2031, sets out a vision to become a more established and influential voice in public service improvement, raising standards and driving system-level change across the NHS, government departments and other public bodies.

Ombudsman Hong Kong probes effectiveness of mosquito prevention and control
The Ombudsman, Ms Winnie Chiu, announced the launch of a direct investigation to examine the effectiveness of mosquito prevention and control by the Food and Environmental Hygiene Department. Members of the public are invited to provide information and views on this topic by 20 September 2020.

Formation « Sharpening Your Teeth », 5 – 8 juin 2011
Pour la deuxième fois, la formation « Sharpening Your Teeth » (« Aiguisez-vous les dents » ) destinée au personnel des institutions de l'ombudsman a été organisée par le Secrétariat général viennois de l'I.I.O. Comme l'année dernière, la formation a été dispensée par l'Ombudsman d'Ontario, André Marin et son adjointe Barbara Finlay.

Le ministère de la Sécurité communautaire et des Services correctionnels a discrètement promu le recours à un règlement probablement illégal pour accorder des pouvoirs « extravagants » à la police à la veille du sommet du G20. C’est ce qu’a déclaré l’Ombudsman de l’Ontario, André Marin, dans son tout dernier rapport publié aujourd’hui.
