Recently, many citizens and organizations have addressed the Public Defender's Office with questions about whether they violate the rights of a person when they request to present a vaccination document in labour relations, services, health care, education or other areas and whether such a practice is discriminatory.

Western Australia Ombudsman hosts delegation from Ombudsman Republic Indonesia
In December 2015, the Western Australian Ombudsman hosted two staff from the Office of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia (ORI) for a one week internship as part of the Indonesian/Australian Ombudsman Linkages and Strengthening Program. This follows the Office hosting a senior delegation from the office of the ORI in September 2015.

Ombudsperson Jay Chalke released his final update report into the provincial government's oversight of private training institutions in the province today. The report highlights improvements to the regulatory regime resulting from the Ombusperson's recommendations in a 2015 report.
