Ombudsman presents Ombudsplan 2026 to Parliament
The Parliamentary Ombudsman, Judge Joseph Zammit McKeon, presented the Ombudsplan 2026 to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Anglu Farrugia. The Ombudsplan is the annual policy and financial framework of the Office of the Ombudsman. It sets out the Office’s objectives for the coming year, highlights systemic challenges within the public administration, and includes the request for funding required to support the institution’s work.

Ombud trailblazers: Special celebration of the contributions of Pioneers
A key highlight of the Second International Ombuds Expo, which will take place in Gaborone, Botswana, from 29 July to 2 August 2024, will be a Special Celebration of Pioneers of Ombud, Human Rights and other related Oversight Institutions. Its significance is aptly captured by an old African saying: ‘If we stand tall, it is because we stand on the back of those who came before us’. Registrations for the event are still open.

The Greek Ombudsman releases Special Report on the National Mechanism for the Investigation of Arbitrary Incidents 2022
In 2022, the restrictive measures taken to control the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic were lifted. The lifting of these measures is directly reflected in the volume of cases the Mechanism was asked to investigate in the previous year. Now, the Greek Ombudsman has released a Special Report on the National Mechanism for the Investigation of Arbitrary Incidents (EMIDIPA).

El Procurador de los Derechos Humanos sobre la situación de los pacientes renales crónicos
El Procurador de los Derechos Humanos Dr. Alejandro Córdova ante la situación que atraviesan los pacientes renales crónicos expresa que, personal de la Institución realiza supervisiones en la Unidad Nacional de Atención al Enfermo Renal Crónico (UNAERC), relacionadas con denuncias acerca que los pacientes no están recibiendo el tratamiento adecuado. Derivado de esa acción, se conoció que hay falta de provisión de kits que debieron entregar a dicha unidad, motivo por el cual, no se está brindando el tratamiento correspondiente.
