Control Yuan publishes 2019 Annual Report
Recently, the Control Yuan published the 2019 Annual Report. The report includes 6 case summaries, which are categorized into public expenditures, upholding discipline and safeguarding human rights. In 2019, the Control Yuan received 14,425 people’s complaints and issued 262 investigation reports. Also 18 impeachment and 116 corrective measure cases were proposed.

Human Rights Defender monitors interrogation of parliamentary opposition leader
On Sunday early morning the Human Rights Defender carried out comprehensive monitoring following the interrogation of the parliamentary opposition “Prosperous Armenia” fraction leader. The criminal proceeding involving the “Prosperous Armenia” fraction leader Mr. Gagik Tsarukyan is at the center of the Human Rights Defender’s attention within his legal mandate prescribed by law.

Special report on monitoring the activity of the Justice Appointments Council
The People’s Advocate Institution of Albania has published a special report on "Monitoring the Activity of the Justice Appointments Council” during the year 2019. The Justice Appointments Council (JAC) has a key role in the framework of the establishment of new institutions of justice reform and during the last two years it has been a subject of disagreements between various institutions engaged in the implementation of this reform. The published report highlights problems identified by the People’s Advocate Institution in its role as an observer of JAC meetings during 2019.

Ombudsman Institution publishes Annual Report 2019
The Ombudsperson's Annual Report, in the spirit of the principles democracy, protection of human rights and rule of law as well as the constitutional and legal mandate, aims to provide a general overview of the challenges in the human rights protection system in the Republic of Kosovo. With particular emphasis on the issues of systematic problems in all three pillars of the power: in legislature, in executive and judiciary, with a strong believe that in this way this Report will serve also as a tool for strengthening democracy in the country.

Consultation of the regions on the IOI World Conference Themes
For the 13th IOI World Conference the National Ombudsman of the Netherlands proposed five themes to be discussed during the event. As the institution wanted to learn the views of other regions on the themes, they started online meetings with the IOI regional boards where the latter were invited to share their thoughts and ideas on the themes as viewed from their perspective.

The Australasian Pacific Ombudsman Region (APOR) held a conference on 31 October 2023 and its 35th annual Members’ meeting on 1 November 2023 in Melbourne Australia. The conference, themed "Through The Ombudsman Looking Glass: Now And Into The Future" was hosted by Victorian Ombudsman Deborah Glass OBE as Regional President.

Defensoría del Pueblo pide a demuna y programa aurora atender caso de 18 estudiantes indígenas que viven en condiciones precarias
La oficina de la Defensoría del Pueblo en Loreto demandó la intervención inmediata de las autoridades de esta región frente a la situación de abandono constante en que se encuentran 18 adolescentes del pueblo Matsés, perteneciente a la comunidad indígena de Ibama, ubicada en el distrito de Punchana, quienes deben trasladarse todas las semanas hacia otra localidad para recibir clases de nivel secundario, debido a que en su comunidad no cuentan con dicho servicio.
