PHSO starts to regularly publish casework
On Thursday 29 April 2021, PHSO started the routine publication of their primary and detailed investigations on their website. You can view their cases on their new publishing platform. They published around 15 of their decisions and will continue to publish cases on the second and fourth Wednesday of each month. The number of cases they publish will gradually increase over the next few months.

The Legislative Assembly of British Columbia today reappointed Jay Chalke as British Columbia’s Ombudsperson for a second six-year term. The appointment followed the unanimous recommendation of the legislature’s Special Committee to Appoint an Ombudsperson.

Online press conference – The Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB) presented their 2020 annual report
The members of the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB), Mr Bernhard Achitz, Mr Walter Rosenkranz and Mr Werner Amon presented on the basis of the annual report the AOB’s investigation results from 2020 and gave, on the basis of some selected complaints and their own perceptions, an insight into the work of the monitoring and human rights institution. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the AOB published its annual report in three volumes for the first time. In addition to Volume 1 ‘Monitoring of public administration’ and Volume 2 ‘Preventive human rights monitoring’, Volume 3 ‘Covid-19’ covers all those observations related to the 2020 Covid-19 measures.

El Invernadero del parque de la Ciutadella acogió el 16 de abril de 2024 el acto de celebración del cuarenta aniversario de la aprobación de la Ley del Síndic de Greuges de Cataluña. El evento, en el que participaron más de doscientas cincuenta personas, contó con la presencia de numerosas personalidades del país, como el presidente de la Generalitat, la presidenta del Parlamento, varios consejeros, el defensor del pueblo de España, el exsíndic de greuges, Rafael Ribó, y representantes de entidades sociales.

Defensoría del Pueblo exhorta al MTC a garantizar inspecciones técnicas vehiculares regulares de mototaxis en todo el país
Tras la intervención de la sede de la Defensoría del Pueblo en Huanta, se ha podido advertir que las disposiciones dictadas por el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones para reglamentar la Ley 29237, que crea el Sistema Nacional de Inspecciones Técnicas Vehiculares, no facilita ni garantiza que los vehículos menores, más conocidos como “mototaxis”, pasen por la respectiva inspección técnica vehicular.
